Today was a day full of creativity and creative stimuli. Almost too much so. This morning, Oona and I went on a pilgrimage to CJS Sales, a fantastic and overwhelming warehouse full of beads, findings, chain and other jewelry and craft supplies. I had prepared myself mentally for the experience, but nothing could have really prepared me for the actual visit. What was intended to be a couple hours, ended up being an all day trip — digging through boxes and boxes (and boxes and boxes) of amazing materials. And then came the difficult decision of what I could actually afford to walk out the door with. I’m not sure how I’ve managed to live in the city this long without knowing about this place, but I know there will be plenty of return visits. Though next time I’ll need to be flush. This could definitely be dangerous.
Tonight I went to a Mixed Media Collage workshop at Materials for the Arts. I convinced Allison and Oona to join me. It was a lot of fun and a good night for playing. Materials for the Arts has a wealth of supplies too (hence their name) and I feel like my day of sensory overload at CJS prepared me for the evening.

I wish I’d had more time there because I feel like I was only getting started, but I brought some supplies home in case I want to work on it some more…
